Sapphire with Hexagonal Zoning

Almost all sapphires have some color zoning but usually a highly skilled gem cutter can orient the facets so we will never see it. This oval shape sapphire was cut specifically TO show the hexagonal crystal growth lines and color zoning. A very interesting specimen and certainly a conversation starter.
