Sapphire is the name we give to the mineral corundum. When it contains trace elements of different types the color shifts. Titanium yields blue. Iron, chromium, vanadium, magnesium, or combinations thereof, yield other colors. We refer to these beautiful colors as “fancy color” sapphires. Enjoy!
